Ashley Byrd is a writer for Screen Rant's Star Trek Features. She currently lives in her hometown in the Florida panhandle, where she's attending classes for her last year of graduate school. One of her earliest memories is learning the Vulcan salute from her grandfather, who had every episode ofrecorded on VHS and rolled the TV cart into the dining room every night to watch it during dinner. She grew up watching , which she rewatches frequently in anticipation of season 3. J.J. Abrams' reboot films also hold a special place in her heart, as they inspired her to pursue writing academically and professionally.
