recently organized its 5th annual career fair that brought together over 110 employer-partners from various industries including eHealth Africa, China Harbour Engineering Company, DBN, PwC, Grant Thornton, Jubaili Bros, Norrenberger, GLO, Starsight, GT Bank, Standard Bank, Aluko and Oyebode, Huawei among others, to interact with students and discuss the future of the workplace in the face of AI and other emerging technologies.
The Vice Chancellor of Nile University of Nigeria, Prof. Dilli Dogo, in his welcome address, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Our goal is to equip our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the rapidly changing world of work. This career fair is a testament to our commitment to providing our students with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.”
The highlight of the event was the panel discussion featuring distinguished speakers and industry professionals comprising: Mr. Habeeb Jaiyeola , Jamila Akaaga Ade, MCIArb. , FIMC, ACIS: , Mr. Adesina Matti , Mr. Tochukwu Mbanugo , who was represented by Mr. Ugochukwu Modum. Students had the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions where they asked questions and received personalized career advice from the experts. These sessions were designed to help students identify their strengths, understand industry expectations, and prepare for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Students who attended the career fair expressed their excitement and appreciation for the opportunity to learn from industry leaders. “This event has been incredibly eye-opening,” said Khaira Abubakar, a final-year student of Mass Communication at Nile University of Nigeria. “The insights on AI and the future of work have motivated me to pursue further interest in data science.”
