About 50 people were aboard JL2154 bound for Osaka when it was forced to return to Aomori because of message in the cockpit that suggested the left engine had caught fire, the carrier said.A JAL spokesperson said the company was investigating details of the engine trouble. "We are confirming if there was an emergency situation and whether the engine actually caught fire,” JAL said in a text message.
