A man was arrested Thursday in connection with the shooting death of a Brunswick High School football player in 2023, according to the Brunswick Police Department.

A day after Ellis’ death, police obtained warrants for murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime for Hartley. That same day, detectives also asked for help from the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Task Force to search for Hartley who was believed to have fled the area.Days after Ellis was killed, Diandra Hightower was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and making false statements to police in connection to Ellis’s death.
