An online training will be required for public certificated educators in California who work with seventh through 12th grade students. Known as PRISM , it’s currently being developed and will be finalized by July 1st next year.In the six-part online program, educators will learn about bullying prevention, intersectional identities, and understanding LGBTQ+ culture.

California has long been a frontrunner on LGBTQ+ education in the U.S. The law already says social studies and history classes should include the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans.
