Our Bright Spot shines on a history lesson - but not one you'd find in a textbook.

Penfield's Indian Landing Elementary School marked its 75-year anniversary during the school's end-of-the-year celebration. Brighton, N.Y. — Our Bright Spot shines on a history lesson — but not one you'd find in a textbook.

It comes from an end-of-the-year tradition at Penfield's Indian Landing Elementary School that took place Thursday. "It's kind of cool. I think it's good for the school to get together and remember all of the things that we've done this year," said student Easton Sage."We started this four years ago after COVID as a way to come together. Now, it's become a tradition," said Marcie Ware, the school's principal. "Today is really special because it's the culmination of celebrating 75 years.

"The feeling of the school, everybody being there and being so nice to everyone else," added fellow classmate Hannah Dubosh."We've done a lot of learning over the years," Ware said. "We've had other events, but the children are sprinkling seeds as their final act — a sign of hopes and how things continue to keep growing."
