Heidi grew up in San Diego, California. She attended San Diego State University where she majored in Journalism and has a minor in History.

It was in early November, just before the holidays when Rosa Hubbard found out she had an aggressive and rare form of cancer."It grows inside you like it's an extra organ," Hubbard said."They said this type of cancer two in a million women."

"There are people with cancer who cannot get their treatments for whatever reason and these could be life-saving treatments," Steal said."Lack of transportation is the No. 1 barrier to people getting those treatments.""The service that Road to Recovery provides is incredibly powerful," she said. "It showed up in my mailbox at a time when I was looking for that exact email, even though I didn't know it," she said.
