The poster-sized displays will be paired with a four-paragraph 'context statement' on the religious text's role in the US education system.

Louisiana's Republican governor has signed a bill into law requiring all public schools in the state to display the Ten Commandments in every classroom.

Louisiana has become the first US state to require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every public school classroom, in the latest move by new Republican Governor Jeff Landry. "Even among those who may believe in some version of the Ten Commandments, the particular text that they adhere to can differ by religious denomination or tradition," the groups said in a joint statement.Proponents say the Ten Commandments are not solely religious, but are also of historical significance as foundational texts of the United States government.
