Some Utah school workers will be given extra police training to become “school guardians,” able to spring into action in case of an emergency, like a school shooting.

This teacher training has been getting worldwide attention. When KUTV was there, so was a news crew from the Netherlands. There will be a major difference between what educators are taught at the Teachers Academy and the School Guardian program. At the academy, educators are trained to avoid a potential gunman as much as possible. That will not be the case for teachers who sign up to be guardians.
