The National University of Singapore said yesterday it will convene a committee to review its disciplinary and support frameworks, after a female undergraduate accused it of not doing enough to punish a fellow student who had filmed her showering.
"I want real consequences for perpetrators that commit such acts and I want to know that NUS will reprimand them seriously so other potential perpetrators know they will face punishment if they commit ," she wrote on her Instagram page. She also revealed the identity of the male student. "We understand that the male student concerned received a 12-month conditional warning from the police," the statement said.
She shouted and the person ran away, said Ms Baey. A girl who was outside the shower stall saw the man running down a staircase. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR PETER PANG, NUS' dean of students, on the factors the disciplinary board considers. Other NUS students have since taken to social media to comment on the incident, with some saying they had heard of similar cases that went unreported, and others claiming to be victims like Ms Baey.
why is it that only the victim's name is all over the news without revealing the perpetrator's name Nicholas Lim Jun Kai when he was caught red handed? Isn't this genderbiased and stigmatizing the victim? Why are we protecting the perpetrator's identity?
As a fellow Singaporean, this cannot be taken lightly. I am sure that the victim has suffered from this incident. Really hope that more can be done to help her out. Sigh...

NUS wake up your idea. School is suppose to be safe place for everyone. If you can’t even do that then let MOE take over you. Like a kindergarten?
Here is a report about a similar crime off-campus with a different legal outcome
Really disappointing story by ST 1) Why are you showing the victim's photo? Where is Nicholas Lim's face and name in the story? 2) It's not just NUS that failed to bring justice to the victim but also the SingaporePolice 3) Why won't you call out NUSingapore instead of tagging?
Do that in public, jail time. Why the double standards here?
Too late la...
Name him! Show his photo! Nicholas Lim Jun Kai! Don’t keep showing the victim’s photo! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

What is the Singapore police doing? Giving only a 12 month warning?SingaporePolice We sentence vandals to the cane, and yet take it so lightly when it comes to the violation of a women's body?
This is annoying. The media keep posting photos of the victim but none shows the pervert who was actually caught on CCTV and admitted to his crime. U guys don’t even dare to name him, WTH
Any comment from the Attorney General?
Taking upskirt photo would be charged, right? However, not for filming female showering? Something wrong...
