Parents and teachers at Garfield Heights schools say the violence there has gotten out of control. Some teachers say they’re leaving the district because they’re sick and tired of being hurt by their own students.

GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio - Parents and teachers at Garfield Heights schools say the violence there has gotten out of control. Some teachers tell 19 Investigates they’re leaving the district because they’re sick and tired of being hurt by their own students.

Student cell phone videos ― later confiscated by police ― document knockdown, drag out fights that happen all too often at Garfield Heights schools. “They’re all over Instagram,” said Garfield Heights activist Jim Feeney. “These students started their own fight pages, fight group pages.”He even launched his own Facebook page called “Garfield Heights Crime!! 18+”. It acts like a private neighborhood watch group and currently has over two thousand members.Last month, one member posted video to Feeney’s site of students fighting after school near the skate park.
