Arvada, Colorado Frank DeAngelis stood in his home office, his hair graying over his ears, and pointed to each frame on the wall, telling the story behind the mementos he's collected over the last two decades. There are letters from President Bill Clinton, another from President Barack Obama and one from Vice President Joe Biden. There's a photograph of Frank with Clinton, another of him with Hillary Clinton, and one of him beside Celine Dion. The torch holder he carried for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City is mounted near a matching newspaper clipping.

Principal: I want Columbine to mean hope 03:17Frank's promise to stay gave him"so much credibility in the community," Tonelli said. The faculty and staff, along with the students and the whole community, looked to him as a leader, as someone who was"persevering for a cause greater than himself.

Hopeless!

For those of us who have lost children or loved ones to gun violence, this becomes our life's work...because we never, ever, ever want someone else to undergo the grief, pain and rage that we have undergone and will for the rest of our lives.

Yet still, lausd, which is the 2nd largest school district in the country, still doesn't have mandatory lockdown drill policies. What the hell is it going to take? LASchools Columbine
