Forecasters at Colorado State University have doubled down on their predictions for above-normal storm activity this hurricane season.

Forecasters at Colorado State University have doubled down on their previous predictions regarding the 2024 hurricane season.The Tropical Weather and Climate Research Team at CSU released their extended range forecast and landfall strike probability report on Tuesday, which is based off data through June 11.

Anywhere west and north of Cedar Key, which is toward the Gulf Coast, has a 42 percent chance of facing a major storm.In CSU's forecast released last month, the center predicted that Florida had the highest chance of being impacted by a named storm this year, with a probability of 96 percent. Monroe County in southern Florida was predicted as the most likely to be impacted during hurricane season.CSU also put the entire continental U.S.
