Twenty-seven states had added a shot clock before Illinois since the NFHS approved its use in 2021 for the following year.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 35-second shot clock is coming to high school basketball in a Midwest state, but not Ohio. At least not yet.

“This is something that happens, unfortunately, in states that don’t have a shot clock, and it happens all the time,” Swanson-Haan said
