KSAT-TV welcomed its newest reporter to the station and Nightbeat this week. The alumna of Schertz's Clemens High School arrives here from Memphis.

KSAT-TV welcomed reporter and prodigal daughter Zaria Oates on Monday. 'You’ll start seeing a new face on KSAT this month,' Digital Journalist Spencer Heath wrote. 'The talented Zaria Oates has joined the team as our newest reporter.' Oates will be reporting for Nightbeat from Wednesday through Sunday. While she just moved in from Memphis, Oates calls San Antonio home — she graduated from Samuel L.

on-air employee departures may be result of parent company's staff reduction efforts 'I’m so grateful and excited to be back in Texas. It’s a different feeling being back home,' she told KSAT. 'I know so much about the communities here and so many people here,' she added, noting that working in her hometown felt more personal. 'There’s somewhat of a higher stake reporting here. I want to make the people who raised me proud, I want to make the teachers who taught me proud.
