Poppy Davies, 5, calmly walked from her home to her school after spending the night with her unconscious mother.

A five-year-old girl wearing a princess dress and wellies walked to school and told her teacher: "Mummy's on the floor and I can't wake her up."

The last thing the mental health worker recalled was the sight of Poppy dancing in her princess dress before she lost consciousness. Leisha was taken to Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran where she was diagnosed as being in septic shock and only 15% of her lung was working. She was placed in an induced coma and suffered two cardiac arrests.

"When I woke up I couldn't move my body and I'd had a tracheostomy so I couldn't speak. My mother was stroking my hair and said 'Are you alright?, reports Wales Online.
