University of Perpetual Help System Dalta successfully defended the track and field championship in the juniors division in Season 99 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association on Saturday at the Philsports in Pasig City.The Junior Altas collected a total of 804.5 points in 18 events to claim the title for the second consecutive season.Perpetual Help actually first won in 2019 but the league only resumed the juniors track and field tournament this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Marcus Aguilar of La Salle Greenhills was named Freshman of the Year and Junior Altas head coach Philip Silloco as Coach of the Year.Also contributing medals for the Junior Altas was Franz Matos who won golds in the 200-meter, 400-meter, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay and a bronze in the 100-meter dash. Cris Jay Pasion also gave Perpetual Help the gold in the 800-meter, 4x400 relay and 3,000-meter run and a silver in 2,000-meter steeplechase.
