South-Western City Schools' board voted on Saturday morning to approve the employee contract for Randy Banks who will now take the reins as the district's superintendent.
"Public education has evolved in the last decade and it’s important for the new superintendent to take time to learn and grow with the people here," Banks said. Banks is no stranger to the district, having served in multiple positions within SWCS before leaving to serve as the assistant superintendent of Worthington City Schools.
"The first thing I want to do is reconnect with people here a lot has changed in the 13-years that I’ve been away," Banks said. "There are familiar faces but things operate a little bit differently. I’m really going to invest in the chance to get to know people." Banks will lead SWCS for the next four years starting on August 1. Before officially starting, he will serve as a consultant, which board members say will allow him to start interacting in the district before his term begins."The board of education is really committed to working and serving both students and staff of this school district," he said. "I’m really excited to partner with them and like I said get to work..
