The Ebonyi State Commissioner for Education, Professor Paul Awo Nwobasi has stated that the era of non-promotion of teachers will soon be a thing of the past in the state. The Commissioner stated this in Abakaliki during a 5-day training workshop for Head Teachers, Education officers and Principals of Junior Secondary Schools in Nigeria.

Nwobasi stressed that the present administration in the state has prioritized education to hasten the all-round development of the state. The event which was powered by the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, Abuja, in conjunction with the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration, NIEPA – Nigeria, Ondo, and the Ministry of Education, Ebonyi State, had the theme: “Effective School Management in the 21st Century.

Oyeromi who appreciated the participants for turning up for the workshop stressed the need for teachers and Principals to be equipped with the relevant skills needed in the 21st Century. “We need to be equipped with the right skills in the 21st Century. We are here because we want improvement in our schools. The effect of the training is to inject new skills into the participants. Put what you learn into practice.
