Higher education analytics firm Quacquarelli Symonds recently published the 21st and latest edition of the QS World University Rankings, a portfolio of comparative higher education institutions rankings.
Furthermore, the QS World University Rankings 2025 is its largest-ever ranking, featuring over 1,5000 universities across 105 higher education systems, with 28 Malaysian higher education institutions making it to the list this time around.
Besides that, UM is also ranked as the 3rd best Southeast Asian university, 34th in the Employer Reputation ranking and 62nd in the Academic Reputation ranking.UM, which is the oldest university in Malaysia, is the only higher education institution in our country to make it in the top 100 list of QS World University Rankings 2025, with the 2nd highest placing university, Universiti Sains Malaysia , coming in 146th place.
Furthermore, only 2 other Malaysian universities besides the above made it into the top 200 list, which are Universiti Putra Malaysia in 148th place and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 181st place. Meanwhile, the highest-placing Malaysian private university in the ranking is Taylor’s University in 251st place, followed by UCSI University in 265th place.
