Police are asking the public to help identify a bicyclist who collided with an elementary school student that was getting off the school bus in Pennsylvania.

An elementary school student can be seen falling to the ground after he was struck by a bicyclist while getting off the school bus on W. Canal Road in York County on May 28, 2024.

Police said the bus had been driving east on W. Canal Road when it activated its red lights and "stop arm" to let students off at a stop. The impact knocked the boy to the ground. He was left with various scrapes and cuts, but he did not require medical treatment, officials said.Police said a woman who was outside waiting for her child to get off the bus rushed to help the boy. The bicyclist did stop and check on the child, police said, but they never reported the crash to police, the school district or the bus company.
