Witnesses said the student had just gotten off the bus when the passing bicyclist struck him. The student sustained cuts and scrapes on his arms and legs but did not require medical attention, according to police.The child, a student at North Salem Elementary, was distraught and did not speak to the bicyclist, according to police. He received help at the scene from a woman who was waiting to pick up her child from the bus.
The bicyclist has not contacted police, the school district, or the bus transportation company to report the crash, police said.
