Columbus police released few details connected to a fatal hit and run last month, that claimed the life of a Columbus State Community College student.Benjamin W

Benjamin Weiss, 23, of Pittsburgh, died May 30 after he was hit while walking in a marked crosswalk on North High Street in Clintonville near a Giant Eagle supermarket.

"This is an agony that we have no frame of reference to describe," said Vered Lewy-Weiss, Benjamin's mother, "we are broken." "There was just so much life for him to have," said his mother, who said her son was devoted to family, friends, and his dog Addie and was considering pursuing a career in law or teaching.

Columbus Police say a dark-colored car struck Benji as he had the walk signal and was inside a marked crosswalk; the car threw Benji to the ground.Authorities are still searching for the first vehicle that hit Benji and drove off.A traffic crash report obtained by ABC 6/FOX 28 states a witness told officers they believed the car that drove away may have been a blue Toyota Corolla.
