Since 1961, the Education Medal has been awarded to students showing academic excellence as well as leadership and community-mindedness. Cape Breton recipients of the 2024 award were presented their medals by Lt.-Gov. Arthur J. LeBlanc at the ceremony held at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre.
