Tom Parry, 49, and his son Richie, 12, died while walking in the Scottish Highlands

A headteacher paid tribute to a "kind and gentle" schoolboy who died while walking with his dad in the Scottish Highlands.

They have been formally identified as Tom and his son Richie. Richie was a year seven pupil at Alsager School in Cheshire.READ MORE: Mum took son for an eye test before 'Chris from Specsavers' saved his life "We send our thoughts and condolences to Richie’s mum, brother, family and friends. Our school counsellor and youth workers from our local churches will be in school next week to support pupils and staff."
