NOthing can prepare children for life with the country in its current state... NOthing.

Who made SATs so high stakes - I think everyone in education (and society) needs to reflect on why our education system (at all ages) has become so focused on the final grade. Assessment is important - but the outcome should have never become more important the process.

The image you’re using will be 4 years out of date this year - this is poor for something that is so easy to research. The children don’t even do this type of test anymore and there are no levels. Parents deserve honesty on all fronts; don’t give visually misleading information.

And what will we have them taught under corbyn racism, terrorism, cowardlyness, communism. This muppet is the worst labour leader in history, and that includes war monger Blair.

That is all the school system has been doing for decades. Actually, we need skilled, numerate and confident individuals.

Students will just end up being tested at the start of year 7 instead. Secondary schools need this information in order to deliver the correct level content to certain individuals. It will just increase the already high workload on secondary schools

He says that now...

I thought preparing children for 'life' was part of parenting.

My school taught banking, how to buy insurance, basic finance, etc and other life skills. We need to know what we will need to start our adult lives.

Not everybody is academic and that's ok. I just wish education would recognise this and stop pushing the university agenda as if it's the be all and end all. We need more apprenticeships and training on the job.

I'd happily see the year six sats abolished, my daughter's school insisted parents had to pay for revision and work books, 25 books! They started sats work in September and only stopped as Sats began cue nervous breakdowns

Abolish League Tables while you're at it.

The tests to see that you learned are a part of the problem. A larger part is the actual curriculum which assumes that a scholarly education is superior to learning a trade. We have more jobs open which don't require a four-year degree, yet we push a college mentality on kids.

The Labour leader said the exams are giving kids nightmares and “leaving them in floods of tears”. … Good everyone needs to be equally stupid so we can be equally poor and have to rely on the state from cradle to grave (tampon tax) Good idea but it won’t happen because anyone with half a brain wouldn’t vote for that shower of shit in the first place Poor decision it will lead to 70s standards which no one can measure
