Denver may be in for more rain and modest wind gusts Saturday afternoon, according to National Weather Services forecasts, though the metro should duck a fresh round of hail forecast to pepper the Eastern Plains.

Sunny skies should give way to rain in the afternoon after 1 p.m. and include winds of between 25 mph and 40 mph, said National Weather Service meteorologist Bernie Meier. The more severe weather, including large hail and stronger gales, is expected to the east, past Fort Morgan. The Saturday afternoon rain in the metro is forecast to be brief and light, Meier said.
