32-year-old Brook Ellen West was arrested Monday on charges of public intoxication and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Scott County Sheriff's deputies say she told authorities she had four shots of vodka while teaching a class at Royal Springs Middle School in Georgetown. They say she smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on her feet, yelled and cursed at the children, and had a blood alcohol content level of .317.Related Stories

Video shows student body-slammed by deputyCell video shows a school resource officer body slam a grade 6 student to the ground. If that's diffusing the situation, I'd hate to see how he is when he overreacts. It would have been ethically justifiable for a civilian / bystander to assist him. This re-enforces general rhetoric of the police being class traitors. Their gun is the only thing that deters ethical intervention with the least amount of violence necessary. Crazy kids these days.
