The first burglary took place on Friday, May 24. Security cameras captured an unidentified male carrying two bags entering the frat house through the front door, then walking out with additional bags, according to the University of Arizona Police Department. No residents were present at the time.
On Monday, UAPD received a call for a man inside the same fraternity house at 6:12 a.m. Officers responded and found 42-year-old Henry Tavel still inside, UAPD said. A resident of the frat house remotely saw Tavel through a surveillance camera. Based on descriptors, Tavel was identified as the same suspect, UAPD said.
Tavel was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of prescription drugs. He was also issued an exclusionary order from the university.University of Arizona Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at the Theta Xi Fraternity late last week.
