A black bear that had reportedly approached people and vehicles in Lloydminster on Thursday morning “has been captured and will be escorted out of town,” according to the RCMP.
The RCMP provided the update just after 1 p.m. local time, about three hours after police first learned about the bear’s presence in the city that straddles the border between Alberta and Saskatchewan. According to police, officers were alerted to the situation just after 10 a.m. local time. At 10:35 a.m., police said the bear was believed to be near an A & W restaurant located in the east end of the city.
