Labour has refused to rule out the possibility of a mid-academic year rise in private school fees.

Speaking to LBC's Tom Swarbrick, shadow transport secretary Louise Haigh said the VAT rise on private school fees will not come in before the next budget.However, she said she could not rule out the removal of the exemption being introduced in the middle of the next academic year.“There will be no tax rises beyond that which Labour has already announced," Ms Haigh said.
