Concerns about student voting after Walter Sisulu University’s decision to close Mthatha campus

Walter Sisulu University wrote to students on Monday, alerting them of the closure of the Mthatha campus.

Students at the campus, including those living in privately owned residences, were given until 10:00 on Tuesday to vacate the campus. "The SRC of Mthatha campus remains suspended as the structure. The executive committee of all political structures at the Mthatha campus remains suspended," Songca wrote.

The commission’s Eastern Cape electoral officer, Kayakazi Magudumana, said they were made aware of the decision by the university. "We were protesting for our own issues. One of them is the issue of transportation of students to and from their residences.
