Probably quite embarrassed, You know there were days when I didn't want to go in. But I was brought up in a family where you didn't do that - you go and you don't take time off school.
"I definitely wasn't comfortable with opening up. I think it was more a recognition on my parents' part that I wasn't enjoying the school and previously I always did and was bouncing to get ready, eager to go in. And that had made me faded and dimmed. I look back at it now and feel like I have been on a bit of a journey myself with my own mental health looking after my own well-being and self care probably over the last few years.
"Probably until about 27 I really struggled to talk to people. I struggled to express myself I think. Whereas now I feel like I would rather be open about how I feel and what I think and hopefully have a productive conversation. I think it is about trying to conduct yourself in the best way with the best intentions and that's really all you can control."
The advice she would give to her teenage self? "It's gonna be alright, and it is alright to be exactly who you are. Don't be afraid of being yourself. It's alright if you don't fit in. I think I really struggled with that for such a long time.
