Sarah Henderson slams Education Minister Jason Clare amid rising anti-Semitism on university campuses, attributes 'failure of leadership' to preference for votes
Additionally, one of Australia’s largest Jewish schools, Mount Scopus' Burwood campus in Melbourne, was vandalised with the words ‘Jew die’ on Friday evening. Speaking to Sky News Australia host Chris Kenny on Monday evening, Ms Henderson said the government was exercising “weasel words” but taking “no action” against “shocking incidents of discrimination, harassment, intimidation” ripping through education institutions.
She said the government was more preoccupied with winning Muslim voters than tackling anti-Semitism, echoing One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson and former prime minister Tony Abbott’s same sentiment this month. Pro-Palestine encampments at major Australian universities have remained ongoing over the last month despite reports some camps display posters with anti-Semitic slurs like ‘from the river to the sea’ and student suspensions.
