A Cumberland Valley family has filed a lawsuit against a Mountain View Middle School teacher who allegedly flat-ironed a 7th-grade student’s hair without their consent. The accused teacher, Annie Hine, is also being accused of sexual harassment against the student.
The complaint references other students witnessing these acts, and allegedly vocalizing comments to the victim saying, “She’s gonna rape you” and “She wants your kids.” The student is reported to have said “no.” The student asked why they were separated from their classmates and Hine allegedly replied, “This is what happens to bad boys.”
Another teacher is noted in the suit to have taken a picture of the incident as it happened, sending it to Hine, as well as the yearbook committee for publication. The victim was unable to attend school for days following the December 7 incident, and ultimately stopped attending Mountain View Middle School due to emotional and mental health issues.
