After weeks of controversy, actor and author Maulick Pancholy, known for his “30 Rock" and "Weeds" fame, is set to give an anti-bullying assembly Wednesday at Cumberland Valley School District’s Mountain View Middle School.
Pancholy’s assembly was originally canceled at an April 15 meeting where some board members expressed concerns about the actor, claiming that he was a political activist. After the school board received public backlash for canceling the speaking event, it hosted a special meeting on April 24. There, the board heard hours of public comment and eventually voted to reinstate the event, now scheduled for Wednesday, May 22.After the decision was reversed, Pancholy took to Instagram to give his thoughts, saying he was deeply grateful for those that showed up in support of him.
