The three victims of a fatal boat collision over the May long weekend were graduates from high schools across the Limestone School District.

Five others were also injured following the collision on May 18, 2024. Global's Katylyn Poberznick has more.Officials say a speed boat collided with a fishing boat around 9:30 p.m.

In an emailed statement to Global News, the district said it is working with schools to ensure that students received the support they may need — further adding that educational services staff are available to students for as long as needed. “It’s a sad day for . We’re going to honour these three individuals throughout the week with our soccer championships tonight and tomorrow,” Pennell said. “These three will be in our thoughts and prayers throughout the week and to the end of the season.”
