Troy Valencia ignited late to power Arellano University to a 105-95 thrashing of San Sebastian College-Recoletos in the Filoil EcoOil ECJ Preseason Cup on Monday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.Valencia dropped 10 of his overall output in the payoff period to collect a game-high of 30 points on top of six rebounds, two assists, and two steals as the Chiefs cruised to a perfect 2-0 slate. The rebuilding Stags, meanwhile, dropped to 0-2.

The backcourt duo of Nicole Quinal and transferee Axel Doromal did the damage for the Generals, dropping 15 and 13 points off the bench with the latter also grabbing four rebounds and four assists as they improved to 1-0. San Beda, on the other hand, fell to 2-1. In other games, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde bounced back from an opening loss after eking out a 72-59 victory against Mapua University behind the 11-point and five-rebound outing from John Morales.
