The Managing Director, International Monetary Fund , Mrs. Christine Lagarde, has advised the Nigerian government to jettison spending on fuel subsidy and instead expend such money on health, education and infrastructural development.
She said: “As far as Nigeria is concerned, with the low revenue mobilisation that exists in the country; in terms of tax to GDP, Nigeria is amongst the lowest. A real effort has to be done in order to maintain a good public finance situation for the country. And in order to direct investment towards health, education, and infrastructural development.”
How many time do they remove fuel subsidy. IMF respect yourself o! Do you share in this thing with them? Every time they increase price they tell us they've removed everything. Yet we keep hearing there's some more to remove. Hmmmm
Has IMF come to Nigeria to see how d majority of citizens are in hardship 🤨
Remove the subsidy and finally kill the surviving middle class and annihilate the poor
thieves in govt!
The hopeless and useless Nigerian govt prefers to keep fuel subsidies that will benefit elitist politicians than to ensure food subsidies that will benefit the poor masses. Is it a crime if the Nigerian govt subsidizes tomatoes, rice, beans, garri, yam, onions, etc.? Biafra
