When a student at Clemens High School was detained Wednesday on a warrant for allegedly posting photos of weapons on social media, officers found a loaded gun in his backpack. The student, who was not identified because he is a juvenile, was detained on a count of unlawfully carrying a weapon in a prohibited place, which was enhanced to a second-degree felony because the incident occurred on school grounds, according to Schertz police.

Juvenile probation officers immediately detained him. 'The Schertz Police Department wants to assure the public that the safety of our children is paramount,' Schertz police Chief Jim Lowery said.
