Four people, including a middle school administrator, are under arrest and charged with the murders of three Montgomery residents.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Four people, including a middle school administrator, are under arrest and charged with the murders of three Montgomery residents whoseKenneth Thompson, Keante Harris, Kevin Harris, and Darrell Harris. It’s unclear if the suspects are related. Each is charged with three counts of malice murder.

It appears the arrests were made in Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina based on information provided in the release that involved law enforcement agencies in each state. The investigation started on a January Sunday morning when a Union City, GA. police officer on routine patrol noticed a silver car that appeared to be abandoned at an Interstate 85 on-ramp, about 20 miles outside of Atlanta.

While investigating the 2010 Dodge Charger, the officer found the bodies of King and Cottrell in the back seat. Colquitt-Thompson, who owned the vehicle, was discovered in the trunk. The Clayton County Sheriff’s office said in a release Friday that the victims were lured to a home where they were forced inside at gunpoint. They were tortured and then murdered before being loaded into the Dodge and taken to neighboring Fulton County where their bodies were abandoned.

It’s unclear what evidence helped crack the case or what motive there was for the murders, but the law enforcement release cited Chief Kevin Robert, the head of Clayton County Police Department, and his investigators with being “able to crack this 11-year-old case and provide Clayton County District Attorney Tasha Mosley and her team with the proper information to successfully get murder indictments from the grand jury.
