Rangers killed the croc found in Cowal Creek behind Northern Peninsula Area State College’s Injinoo Junior Campus on March 28, the Department of Environment and Science confirmed to 9news.com.au.

“Due to the unacceptable risk the crocodile posed to human safety, including students at the nearby school, along with the animal’s dangerous behaviour, a decision was made in partnership with Traditional Owners to humanely euthanise the crocodile,” a DES spokesperson said.crocodiles had been hanging around the school for years, tempted by an easy meal.

“Every time the bell rings, a croc comes around, because the kids are throwing their food scraps over the fence, into the creek,” she said. In video posted to social media, and published by the Post, a crocodile attacked a dog on the bank of the creek earlier last month.
