Drunk driver strikes pole; his female passenger suffers facial fractures: University Heights police blotterA University Heights police officer stopped to check when he saw a man and woman arguing. The man was subsequently arrested when it was learned he was wanted on a Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office warrant.At 4 a.m. May 2, police were called to the area of 2316 S. Belvoir Blvd. on a report that a car struck a pole. Officers found that the driver, a Euclid man, 31, was intoxicated.
Police charged the man with OVI, having a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, failure to maintain reasonable control, and aggravated vehicular assault.At 1 a.m. April 29, an officer happened upon a man and woman arguing near 2200 S. Green Road. No threats were made and there was no physical violence involved, but the officer found that the man, 26, of Shaker Heights, was wanted on a Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office warrant.At 3:45 p.m.
