John Hay student Chardon Javar Black Jr. and Olentangy Berlin High School student Annabella Clara Burton Boone are the two Ohio Presidential Scholar winners for 2024

CLEVELAND, Ohio - A Cleveland John Hay High School student on Thursday was named a 2024 U.S. Presidential Scholar, one of just 161 seniors nationwide to receive the honor for their accomplishments in academics, the arts, and career and technical education fields.

“The 161 high school seniors selected for the 60th anniversary of the U.S. Presidential Scholars represent the best of our nation’s schools and inspire hope in the bright future of this country,” U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona said in making the announcement.
