Central Dauphin 10th grader Justin Johnson died alone in his home more than a week ago, after a game of tag and tonight the school board is officially honoring

by CBS 21 News his life.

Meanwhile, students and community members are saying that Justin Johnson’s death has opened the door to a discussion about racism in this district that is long past due. One student in the district stated, “Seeing Justin Johnson being chased while racial remarks were being made to him made many people, not only in our community, but across the country feel outrage and unhappy, but yet my week at school last week was business as usual, all activities went on as planned, not even a moment of silence to acknowledge the tragedy that took place.”

While another student commented, “It is in the hands of the Central Dauphin School District and the justice system to make a change to let every student in the district know that they belong and that racism will not be tolerated.”However, the investigation into his death is still ongoing.
