Defending champion University of Perpetual Help Dalta System defeated La Salle Greenhills, 25-14, 25-16 on Monday, May 6, for its seventh win in eight games in NCAA Season 99 boys volleyball tournament at the Arellano Gym in Pasay City.

The Junior Altas of coach Sandy Rieta finished the elims tied for first place with Arellano University but is relegated to second place by virtue of the winner-over-the-other rule. They are looking for their seventh consecutive NCAA boys volleyball crown and 12th overall. Perpetual Help will carry a twice-to-beat advantage in the semifinal round against No.3 Malayan School .

Arellano University will also have the twice-to-beat edge against Lyceum of the Philippines University in the final four.The semifinal round will begin on Thursday, May 9.In the girls division, Arellano is also the top seed and will face Emilio Aguinaldo College in the final four.The second semis encounter is between No.2 Perpetual Help and No. 3 Lyceum.Arellano and Perpetual Help will also have the twice-to-beat edge in the girls semis.
