The student lost her footing on the Cliffs of Moher A young woman died after falling from the Cliffs of Moher in southwestern Ireland yesterday. Emergency services arrived at the scene of the Co Clare cliffside at around 1.20pm following reports a woman in her 20s had fallen. She was reportedly a college student not from Ireland. The Irish broadcaster RTÉ reported that she was visiting the tourist attraction with three friends when she lost her footing.
A garda spokesperson said: ‘Gardaí and emergency services conducted an operation following reports of an incident at the Cliffs Moher this afternoon. ‘The body of a woman, aged in her early 20s, was removed from the water by emergency services.’ This is a developing news story, more to follow soon… Check back shortly for further updates.
