About a dozen North Texas schools asked for nearly $2.5 billion in bond packages for new campuses, safety, upgrades and more.
It was initially part of the district’s 2022 bond election. Voters approved the district’s expansion plans, including multiple new campuses, but not the 12,000-seat stadium. Officials wanted to have space for career and technical education classes at the facility as well.Cedar Hill ISD’s two propositions on the ballot, amounting to $282.4 million, appeared on track to approval, according to unofficial early counting.
“These are major community spaces that bring together our community. We call them our largest classrooms,” Superintendent Lori Rapp previously told Only the $6.5 million technology proposal seemed to be on track to be approved with about 62% of voters supporting the bond, according to unofficial results from early results.
