) - In honor of Law Day, which is celebrated annually on May 1st, students from Baldwin County High School, Daphne High School, Spanish Fort High, Fairhope High, and Elberta High were treated to engaging presentations about the legal profession and the Bill of Rights.
“If not for the rule of law, you know, we would just be living in constant chaos,” said Attorney, James Lynn Perry. “So the rule of law was a huge thing and I think all the lawyers feel that same way. So I’m participating because I feel really strongly about that like most of the legal profession does.”“I didn’t know that you could deny the police officer to look through your phone. You can be like, ‘no, it’s okay. There’s not really probable cause.
Fellow student Anna Fridge praised the presentation, “It was very good, very in depth and covered like all bases for all the rights.” With sessions lasting 50 minutes each, students had ample opportunity to engage with attorneys and learn more about their career.
