Police attended following the worrying incident and issued advice to children about 'the dangers' of carrying a knife - the local council has also since issued a statement.

A 10-year-old schoolboy 'presented a knife' at another pupil inside a Dumbarton primary school last week.

Police were called to the incident on Thursday, April 25, and issued advice to children about "the dangers" of carrying a knife. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "On Thursday, 25 April, we received a report of a 10-year-old boy having presented a small knife at another pupil while within school in the Dumbarton area.READ MORE: Drug dealers caught selling street valium in Hamilton to undercover cops
